Here’s how the Dan’s Auto Body collision repair process works:
Exchange information and remember to snap pictures of license, registration and damage.
Step 1 - Contact your insurance
Contact your insurance company and file a claim.
Step 2 - Call us! (978) 587-3341
We will give you specific instructions based on your policy and extent of the damage. This is when we will request claim information and book your appointment.
Step 3 - Vehicle Arrives
Vehicle is towed in or dropped off at Dan’s.
Step 4 - Kick back and relax
Trust the process, your car is in good hands! We provide regular updates through text message, email and phone.
Step 5 - We deal directly with insurance
We deal directly with your insurance company regarding repairs and will request a supplement if additional parts/repairs are needed that might have been missed in the initial appraisal.
Step 6 - Vehicle is repaired
Once it has been restored to pre-collision conditions and it’s been detailed we will schedule vehicle pickup with you. At pickup, you can leave your rental here and the agency will pick it up.
It might seem simple to you and that’s the point! We are the ones who do all the work behind the scenes so that the experience is as hassle free as possible.
Need a rental?
If you have rental on your policy or if you will be paying for your rental, we will call and set up the rental for you. The rental company picks you up from our office and takes you to their office where you fill out some quick paperwork and then you’re on your way. When your car is repaired you can leave the rental at our office and it’s picked up.
Here’s why you don’t see us listed as a “preferred shop” for your insurance company. Unfortunately, this kind of referral relationship can often create a conflict of interest as the body shop may consider the insurance company to be their customer and their top priority, at the expense of the vehicle owner. Our customer is always our number one priority. As a consumer, it’s important for you to understand that it’s in the insurance company’s interests for you to have your car repaired at a “preferred shop”. With the insurance company in control, they may try to dictate the kinds of parts and the repair procedures that will be used. This is rarely in your best interests, and mainly serves the interests of the insurance company.
Dan’s Auto Body will negotiate with the insurance company on your behalf, making sure that your vehicle is repaired in the best and safest way possible. Don’t let your insurance company STEER you in any particular direction with phrases like:
- “That shop isn’t on our preferred network”;
- “We can’t warranty the work performed at that shop”;
- “That shop charges for parts and procedures that aren’t necessary”;
- “The charges at that shop are higher”;
- “Claims take longer to settle at that shop”;
It is your right to have your car repaired wherever you prefer.
We accept all insurance companies: Progressive, Liberty Mutual, Commerce, Mapfre, Geico, Safety, etc.
